New Year Classes 11/25/2009

Christmas is approaching and so is New Years and all the resolutions that come with it.  Each year my resolutions tend to be focused on specific areas of my life, for example my financial goals tend to be along the lines of 'this year I will actually make RRSP's a priority instead of shoes and purses'.  My personal development goal, "I will recycle, I will compost, I will be a better citizen of the world, I will stop driving the 1.5 kms to work on nice sunny days".  Then find myself driving to work in 25 above weather.  Sigh.

Although some goals eventually do come true.  After eight years of commiting to myself that I will start a Masters program, I did that this year.  After about 15 years of attempting to run 21.5 km (half marathon), I FINALLY accomplished that last summer as well.

My mantra this year seems to have been, "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can."  In those moments where fitting in family, friends, school, work, fitness seem impossible, I just repeat my mantra and eventually it all gets done.

It's on this basis that I encourage you to find goals and tell yourself, "I know I can, I know I can, I know I can".  The only way you will ever accomplish anything is if you try.  And what's the worst that can happen by simply trying.

Merry Christmas and happy resolution setting!

I'm not sure what I'm more bothered by... the snow or the fact that I seemed to have no holds bar during Thanksgiving.  Back to healthy lifestyle and everything in moderation.  No more pumpkin pie crust (I actually don't like the filling but crust... yum).

Gearing up for a six week program, four days a week.  I'm excited to see how this will work for everyone.  I love being able to offer you options to take classes during different days of the week and different times.  I love the 5 pm option!  I might incorporate more of those classes in the New Year.

New Year, did I really just say that?  It's one month away today from me pulling out my Christmas decorations (ok, I might decorate a little earlier than the regular person).  I'm off to the hot tub.  Need to relax a little bit this week becaues I know starting on Monday my life is going to be very FULL!

LIVE ABUNDANTLY!

I can't believe it's already time to be planning for September!  It's back to school, back to life, back to cold hard reality that winter is coming, sigh.  The upside is that Boot Camp is coming back for September.  Another four week class starting September 14, Monday and Wednesday.  As soon as I have a location confirmed I will start taking registrations.
I am going to try to figure out a way to include polls on this site.  I'm curious if people would be interested in a few different boot camp classes, 90 minute classes, an optional Saturday class (for those looking for three days a week), an 'extreme' boot camp (slightly more difficult than current classes).  Hopefully I can find a way to include polls.  If you would like to chime in on this, feel free to add a comment to this post.

Remember to check out www.myslavelake.com, they have been tremendous supporters of the classes and I encourage you to check out their site daily.  They are on top of what's happening in the community and definitely deserve kudos for all their hard work.

See ya'll in September!  Enjoy the rest of your summer.

I've been down to the beach doing some 'test' boot camps.  It's been tough but fun.  I can't wait to workout with everyone in the sand.

Lots of phone calls about the beach boot camp.  If you are interested and haven't sent in your paperwork - no problem.  Come early on Tuesday and we'll work it out before class.  Print off the PAR-Q and the registration form off the Classes tab, fill them out and bring them.

For those in the beach boot camp, remember:

WATER

WEIGHTS

MAT - I'll be sending out an email to everyone asking them to bring a mat, as I neglected to include this.

See you on the beach - any questions 780 805-0460 or bodysculpt@live.ca.

I'm off to Victoria for three weeks to complete my residency for my Masters.  The one thing I am determined to attempt to get in (in between eighteen hour school days) are boot camp classes!  I plan to 'steal' some new, innovative class ideas for beach boot camp.  Can't wait to see everyone in July!

Beach Boot Camp 05/07/2009

Check out classes for the details on the Beach Boot Camp.  I'm looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting new people who are looking for a unique and fun way to get fit.

I really want to thank myslavelake.com who have been tremendous with their support.  They are encouraging and helpful and have been generous with helping me get my information out to Slave Lake.

If you haven't been checking out myslavelake.com on a daily basis - you need to start!  They keep it up-to-date and it's a great way to find out what's happening in the community!  Keep up the great work guys!

Beach Boot Camp 05/01/2009

Thanks for the comments!

Yes - I am here and now committing to doing a beach boot camp this summer!  By Monday afternoon I will have dates and details all figured out for everyone.  I will even start taking registrations as I know everyone wants to make sure that they have a spot.

Thanks everyone for supporting the boot camp classes!  I am absolutely loving every minute of these classes.  I heard a rumour that people thought that I might not continue these classes - NOT TRUE!  I am just getting rolling.

I'm off to plan dates for the beach boot camp!

Hi everyone! 04/28/2009

Hope you are enjoying the site!  I appreciate any feedback you might have, feel free to leave it here on this page or email me at bodysculpt@live.ca

I am attempting to construct the stretching page right now.  It's a work in progress while I fight with the website tools to post as many photos as is required.

I am looking forward to being physically able to exercise again!  It's so frustrating not being able to physically be active when it's something you truly love.

An interesting activity that may interest you: Slave Lake Running Club. They meet every Saturday at 10 am at Northern Lakes College pool entrance.  There are people of every level of running from people just getting off the couch to a few that have run a marathon or two in their time.  It's interval based and you run with the group that best matches your fitness level.  It's fun, non competitive and a great way to enjoy a run with great people.
